The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Humza Yousaf, recently toured the West of Scotland Major Trauma Centre at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), highlighting the hospital’s crucial role in trauma care for the region. During the visit, Yousaf explored the centre’s state-of-the-art facilities, designed to provide life-saving care to critically injured patients across the West of Scotland.

As part of his tour, Yousaf had the chance to see a range of cutting-edge developments aimed at improving trauma care. Among these was our Trauma App. Mark Lilley, trauma coordinator at QEUH, showcased the app’s capabilities, demonstrating how it allows medical staff to document patient care in real-time, enhancing accuracy and efficiency in the Emergency Department.

Yousaf was impressed by the potential impact of the App on delivering faster, more efficient trauma care, aligning with Scotland’s mission to modernise healthcare services.

Yousaf’s visit highlighted Scotland’s continued commitment to leveraging technology and innovation in healthcare to improve patient outcomes, reinforcing the collaborative efforts between the Scottish Trauma Network and QEUH to remain at the forefront of trauma care excellence.
